POST NUDE 2 at The Horsebridge

An exhibition of nude artwork – Post Nude 2 – opens at the Horsebridge Centre next week.

An early start in a sunny studio today inspired and enabled completion of my third collaged nude postcard; just in time to drop it in the postbox for today’s collection in Dover. Almost monochrome, the solitary figure ‘le jeune explorateur du monde’, is silhouetted by the sun, in an uncertain landscape. The postcard is now travelling upon its maiden voyage to Whitstable.

Post Nude 2, held from Friday 7 June to Wednesday 31 July, is a celebration of the nude in art, the postal service and the tradition of sending postcards. The show is a reincarnation of 2011’s successful Post Nude – which saw hundreds of postcards sent to the Centre to be displayed on their walls. Following the news that Whitstable’s local post office depot lost its fight to stay open, Post Nude 2’s organisers hope the exhibition will highlight the work of postal staff across
the area.

“Love the post, love the nude, take part in Post Nude.” – The deadline for entry is Wednesday 5 June
