Art Market Maidstone

If you are in the Maidstone area later this month, why not visit the Art Market at the Lockmeadow Market Hall on September 30th, and say hello to SEAS artists Kate Baker and Mike Tedder who will be showing some of their work there.

Experience the vibrancy of the contemporary art scene on Saturday 30th September, with Maidstone’s Art Market at the town’s historic Lockmeadow Market Hall.
The Art Market is an affordable art event bringing together artists from across Kent and the South East showcasing some of the best contemporary art available.

‘Keeping true to our Maidstone roots, inspired by the historic Market and loosely based on the success of “The Art car boot fair”, the “Art Market” provides a public platform to all artists, organisations, collectives and galleries across Kent and the South East. Open to all art disciplines the Art Market gives exhibitors an opportunity to sell their work to the public, build a relationship with potential buyers, galleries and curators. With an informal approach to the fair we hope to engage a wider audience to celebrate and enjoy the arts.’

Making Art Work will be returning with the indoor ART MARKET in Maidstone on Saturday the 17th of September 2016, 9am-4pm. Loosely inspired by the success of “The Art Car Boot Fair”, the ART MARKET event will be held in the historic agricultural hall in the heart of the busy market place.

The first Art Market attracted in excess of 1500 visitors with over 85 stalls featuring contemporary artists, who have exhibited nationally and internationally from across Kent and the South East. It’s not surprising that Making Art Work decided to host the event again, after artists confirmed that the event had created the perfect platform to sell work directly, secure commissions and course bookings, and in some cases artists being signed up by galleries, as well as creating great networking opportunities.
