East Kent Artists’ Open Houses – weekend 2

21-22nd October

This year, for the very first time, artists in Deal and (Dover) join the East Kent Open Houses October event #EKOH with an art trail in their area. Artists’ houses and studios are open throughout the 3 weekends: 14/15th, 21/22nd & 28/29th of October, from 11-5pm (unless stated otherwise). Brochures for the entire EKOH event, part of the Canterbury Festival, are available from tourist information outlets, galleries and studios. Alternatively more information can be found here: http://www.ekoh.org.uk

My studio will be open again this coming Saturday and Sunday in Dover for the 2nd weekend of East Kent Open Houses #EKOH – studio/house no.2 on the Deal trail:
http://ekoh.org.uk/deal/unit-2-67-astley-avenue-dover-ct16-2pl/
If you are following the Deal EKOH trail, of just fancy popping by for a chat, do come and join me for a coffee at the studio. There will be a variety of artwork on display within the studio during this open event, including collages, print and photography, together with a selection of art cards.
I will be working on a series of postcards for exhibition in Deal this November plus a small series of 8 page artist books made from a single sheet of A3 paper for a forthcoming December show in Philadelphia.

67 Astley Avenue, (Unit 2) Dover CT16 2PL
Opening times for both days will be 11-5pm – Free entry, free coffee.

Entering Dover via the A2 from the North, 4th exit off the Whitfield roundabout, continue down into the town, past Buckland Mill onto the one way system. Astley Avenue will be a left-hand turn off Barton Road after two sets of traffic lights. Continue up Astley Avenue to top and turn into yard just before railway bridge. Although parking is limited on site, there is plenty of parking available within 50 meters, just beyond the railway bridge. There is a bus stop near the end of Astley Avenue (routes 15/87/88/89/60), and the studio can be reached on foot 1-2km or taxi from either Dover railway station or ferry terminal.

East Kent Artists’ Open Houses

I am excited to be showing in East Kent Artists’ Open Houses for the first time this year. Although my studio is situated in Dover I am sharing the Deal Trail with some of my SEAS colleagues.

14th/15th, 21st/22nd & 28th/29th October 2017
11am – 5pm (unless stated)
http://ekoh.org.uk/deal/

Welcome to East Kent Artists’ Open Houses 2017 or EKOH for short. Now in its 16th year, EKOH has gone from strength to strength with more artists than ever, over 200 spread over 67 houses and studios. We are also delighted to include Margate, Cliftonville and Deal and hope to extend our range around Kent’s Creative Coast.

The artists’ trail gives the public a personal insight into how an artist works within their specialised field. It opens up a wealth of information and interest to pave the way for making new contacts and discovering opportunities for anyone interested in taking up new fields of creativity. The trail is your chance to visit artists in their homes, to speak to them in person about their work and to find out what is happening in your local area. This is a rare opportunity to experience a diverse array of high quality work in a relaxed setting; with so many venues to choose from there should be something for everyone. So, plan your trip and prepare to be inspired and surprised.
All houses are open weekends during the festival.
